Financial Elder Abuse Defense
Representing caregivers, family members, fiduciaries, and others
Allegations of financial elder abuse often arise in emotionally charged situations involving family members, caregivers, fiduciaries, and others who have developed close relationships with an elderly person.
I represent caregivers, family members, fiduciaries, and others who have been wrongly accused of financial elder abuse.
Not every financial elder abuse claim involves intentional wrongdoing. In many cases, the underlying facts are disputed, family members disagree about events that occurred over a period of years, or individuals find themselves accused of misconduct after acting in good faith.
These cases often involve complex personal relationships, conflicting recollections of events, financial records, estate planning documents, and questions regarding authority, consent, and intent. A careful review of the facts and supporting documentation is critical.
Every case is different. A thorough understanding of the facts, the relationships involved, and the relevant documents is essential when evaluating claims and developing an appropriate defense strategy.
My role is to help clients understand the issues involved, evaluate the available options, and identify the course of action that best serves their interests.
